On June 13, 2019, the Zoning Code Update public process was kicked off at a Joint Advisory Board Workshop.
Michael Stamm, Jr., Director of Planning and Economic Development, introduced the project to attending members of the advisory boards. With support from his staff and the CGA consultant team, Mr. Stamm described the project’s scope and anticipated schedule, desired outcomes, and the role that the boards can expect to play (including being ambassadors for the project to the community, and conduits of community concerns to the project team). Examples were offered of sections in the Code that are challenging now, and of potential changes that might be considered. While the workshop was open to all boards, the subject is of particular relevance to those who most directly and indirectly use the Code in the performance of their duties, including Planning & Zoning, Board of Adjustment, Environmental, Economic Development , Affordable Housing, etc. Review the project team’s presentation.
The workshop concluded with questions from the attendees, which were answered by members of the project team. Attendees also took a survey on priorities at the workshop. Subscribe to be notified via email when the results are posted, and the survey becomes available for you to take as well!
